Man's Best Friend

One of the main things that Riley inherited from his Daddy would be his love for animals! Riley has to give Jax and Rosco "Night Night kisses" before bed every night!!!! Our family just doesn't understand a heart that doesn't love animals!!!

I have recently learned Picasa and how to do collages so I was just playing and came up with this one! I thought it was cute! =)

Oh What a BLESSING!!!

Oh What a Blessing it is to say that I knew my great-grandmother, Elizabeth Grace Hudson. An even bigger blessing is to say that my son got to meet her as well!! Ninny was a woman of wisdom and she was NOT afraid to share her wisdom, whether you really wanted to hear it or not!!!! Ninny told you if you were gaining weight, or whether or not she liked your hair. Ninny was such a joy to be around and her honesty ALWAYS had us laughing!!

We were forced to put Ninny in the nursing home after she had a bad fall a few years ago. She was not happy about the decision at first, but it didn't take her long at all to call Traylor's Nursing Home her HOME!!! No matter where we tried to take her, she would rather be at HOME! I am so thankful for the staff at Traylor's nursing home for making my Ninny feel at home. It meant so much to us to know that she was taken care of 24/7 even though she didn't think she needed it!! "MORE pills" she would say... or "I DON'T need a bath EVERY single morning at 6am!!!!" but no matter what she said, they took care of her!

Although we weren't able to visit with Ninny everyday, we visited as much as we could. All I had to do was tell Riley were going to see his Ninny, and he would say Ninny NON-stop until we saw her!! The moments Ninny and Riley shared together were priceless to me and I would give just about anything to share just one more moment with her. I know Ninny is so happy in Heaven with her husband, her daughter Anita, and my Aunt Jean who I miss more and more everyday!! Here are a few pictures of the moments that can never be taken away from us.

My "Boy of Fall"

Riley's Grandaddy, Uncles, and Daddy all played football for Handley High School. Our entire family has a love for those "Friday Night Lights". Handley holds a portion our hearts and Riley is following in our footsteps! =) We have spent MANY Friday nights at Wright Field and we cannot wait to be rooting our little man on in many more years! Grandaddy, Gigi, Nana, and Papa are all hanging on to their season passes for when Riley is playing! Lord forbid the child ever decide he doesn't want to play football! HAHA Either way, Riley will always be my "Boy of Fall".

GO HANDLEY TIGERS!!!!

Daddy's Shoes

I love to wear your shoes Daddy,
As you can clearly see.
Pretending I'm as big as you,
For soon that day will be.
I hope to be like you someday,
Strong, Patient, full of love.
You’re the greatest Dad on earth,
With quite the shoes to fill.

SNOWDAY!!!!

On Feb. 11 we all went to bed thinking that Dr. Don and his crew on Eagle 102.3 were over exaggerating about all this snow we are suppose to receive. It seems that everytime our small town hears the word "snow", things get crazy!! All the bread and milk wal-mart and Piggly Wiggly has in stock is bought and the whole town is shut down... EXCEPT the Bank of Wedowee!!!! We sat at the bank all day anticipating that phone call saying we should get home before the roads get bad. Of course, we just wanted to join our families in all the fun =) FINALLY we received the call that we could leave at 3:00! WOO HOO!!! I had threatened my mom, who was keeping Riley for me, that she BETTER not take him out until I get home! If it meant he didn't go out at all, his mommy was GOING to be home when he played in the snow for the first time!!! Neil got to leave work early, too, so we got to enjoy this afternoon together! =) Here are a few pictures of Riley's first big snow!! =)
I think he liked it =)

I am so thankful for this day and for the family I was able to share it with! We are so blessed! =)

One Step Closer

Oh, how I have dreaded this day!!!! The day that I would receive those awful scores from the Praxis. I took the test on January 9th and walked out of that building with little to NO confidence of coming anywhere close to passing that test!!!
This morning, I was sitting at Knight Enloe Elementary observing when I received a text message from my fellow classmates... "CHECK YOUR SCORES!!! THEY ARE UP!!!" Of course I was no where near my computer so I had to wait til' I got home! =( All my friends had already told me that they had passed and I just KNEW I would be the only one who didn't pass.... I got home, opened the scores, with eyes closed!!!! Of course I had to scroll through two pages before I could see that word I had been dying to see.... PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Before this day, graduation seemed so far away. Almost as if it would never approach me! YAY ME!!! =) I feel like I should throw a huge party in celebration!! My mother-in-law is so firm in my finishing school and becoming a successful person that she says she has been planning my graduation party since the day I was accepted into the college. =) Isn't she great? KEEP PLANNING MRS. PAM!!! In one year I will walk across that stage!!! =)

I couldn't help myself!

Well, Mrs. Kelly... I have done it!! I have listened to all this talk about "blogspot" at work for so long and my curiosity has been cooking!! I HAD to check out Mrs. Kelly's blog... then I heard about Mrs. Lynn's. Both of their blogs were nothing short of an inspiration to me spiritually and I cannot pass up an opportunity to blog about my life and how blessed I am as well!! So... here it goes!

I have to begin by saying that God is so good to me!! Sometimes I sit and wonder why? What did I do to deserve this? He gave His Son so that I could live this life. It is absolutely amazing that someone could love me that much... WOW! How dare I take advantage of one single thing I have? I am so very blessed!

I have a wonderful husband that loves me unconditionally! Neil and I have been through so much together, but with the good Lord on our side, we are untouchable! In April 2009, Neil and I were blessed with the most wonderful blessing of all, our son Riley! I never understood the meaning of "love hurts" until I held him... it REALLY DOES HURT!! Oh I remember the day we met him like it was yesterday. I was so relieved to have him here and to begin the journey in which we had NO clue what would be like. I cried so hard when the doctors handed me my son that I could not even see him! We have pictures of me holding him before I ever even could see him!! I thought I loved him on that day, but little did I know that that love would grow... and grow... and grow!! The love I have for that blonde headed, blue-eyed baby is UNBELIEVABLE!! Every smile gives me chills!! I love to watch him learn new things each and everyday! He is one smart fella!! I cannot wait to see what he will do next!!

I could not mention my blessings without mentioning the rest of our families!! My mom and dad have always done everything possible to give my brother and I everything we needed, or even wanted, in life. I remember my daddy working night shifts and sleeping during the day but he always reminded us that he was doing it for us!! My mom has been one of my best friends and I am so blessed to have her as my mom! She will never know how much I love her!

Where do I start with my in-laws!! NEVER a dull moment!!!! I have the best mother and father in-law a girl could ask for!! Mr. Mark and Mrs. Pam have been such an inspiration to me! No matter what is going on in their lives, there is ALWAYS room for a good laugh!! I can always count on them to make me smile! I love them so very much!

OK I got carried away with my first blog..... got a little long! =) Hope I don't get as addicted to this as I have Facebook!! Good night!!
